Less is more.
…but, err…click to read more. “More” meaning my musings about “Less is more.” Oh dear.
I believe this is what Mies van der Rohe said about his approach to design. We have been trying to follow the same principle with Roomscaper. However, the home decor and design problem is a complex one, involving many data variables. Style, budget, room, color, timing, furniture combinations…the list goes on. It’s easy to think of a feature as a way to address each variable, but it only gets clutters the overall experience. It’s all similar to the way I have been approaching decorating my living room, I have a tendency to splash more color, pattern and charming bric-a-brac to a room. I’ve had a love affair with magenta hues and stripes for the past few years. But because I’m prone to adding more detail, I guard against “overkill” by leaving the walls a very minimal white (Benjamin Moore’s Linen White, which has a touch of amber in it.) But, I digress…
It looks like we are very close to launching the invite-only beta. It’s looking like 2 weeks, right around Valentine’s Day! We would love your feedback on how to make Roomscaper the best home product discovery site out there.
